［摘要］
①福岡県築上郡築城町の 1ほ場で無作為に採取したホオズキの地下茎を分場内に定植し調査を行った結果，着果率は株により大幅にばらつき，高い株では60％以上，低い株では10％未満となった。この着果率のばらつきは光条件の良否に関係なくみられた。これらのうちから，着果率の高い株と低い株とを選抜し，翌年及び翌々年に栽培した結果，着果率の良否はほぼ再現された。また，着果率の高い系統と低い系統の着果パターンに違いがみられた。これらのことから，今回地下茎を採取したほ場には着果性の異なる系統が混在していたことが示された。
②県内のホオズキ産地 3地域から収集した着果率が比較的高い13系統について場内で栽培し，着果率をみた結果，産地によっては，着果率の高い系統と低い系統とが混在していた。また，系統間で着果率に差異がみられた。これらのうち，着果率の高い系統と低い系統を選び，翌年比較した結果，着果率の安定している系統と不安定な系統とがあった。
③ホオズキでは，ほ場内や地域内における着果率の高い系統を選抜し，2年以上の複数年にわたり検討を行うことにより，着果率の高いホオズキ系統を得ることが可能と思われた。

　Experiments were conducted to determine the lineseparation of fruiting habits in ground cherry（Physalis alkekengi L.var.francheti(Masters)Makino.).The results were summarized as follows:

(1)The subterranean stems of groundcherry were sampled from one field in Tsuiki-machi.The fruit setpercentage depended on the stocks.The distribution of the fruit set percentage ranged from less than10% to more than 60%.We selected plants with a high fruit set percentage lines and a low percentage.Their fruit set percentages were maintained the next year and two years afterwards,and the fruitsetting patterns of the plants with high fruit set percentage lines were different from the low ones.

(2)Thirteen different ground cherry stocks were sampled in 3 areas.Their fruit set percentagesdepended on the lines.The fruit set percentages of some lines became stabilized but others did not.
