ホオズキ新品種‘姫提灯’の育成

ホオズキ新品種‘姫提灯’は，着果率が極めて高い‘京築地域在来系統 A’と，宿存ガクの形状が良好な‘京築地域在来系統 B’を交配した組み合わせの中から選抜し育成した。
‘姫提灯’は宿存ガクの先端が尖り，表面の凹凸が少なく良好な形状をしている。宿存ガクの大きさは５cm前後であり，既存の主要品種‘タンバホオズキ’と同等である。
下位第 6節から第20節の着果率は90％と‘タンバホオズキ’よりも高く，着果が優れる。切り花長は‘タンバホオズキ’や親系統と同等かやや長く，切り花品質が優れる。

A new Chinese lantern plant(Physalis alkekengi L.var.francheti (Masters)Makino)cultivar‘HIMECHOCHIN’developed at Fukuoka Agricultural Research Center in 2003 wasselected from a cross between‘KEICHIKU ZAIRAI KEITOU A’and‘KEICHIKU ZAIRAI KEITOU B'.(‘KEICHIKU ZAIRAI KEITOU A’and‘KEICHIKU ZAIRAI KEITOU B’are nativeChinese lantern plants in Keichiku,Fukuoka ).
The tip of the calyx is sharp, and the surface of the calyx is smoother compared with that of‘TANBA
HOOZUKI'.The size of the calyx is about 5cm, and it is the same as that of‘TANBA HOOZUKI'.
The fruit set percentage from the 6th to the 20th knot is 90%, which is higher than‘TANBA HOOZUKI'.The plant height is the same or higher than‘TANBA HOOZUKI'and the parental lines.
