水稲新品種‘夢つくし’の育成

‘夢つくし’は福岡県農業総合試験場において，極早生（種苗特性分類の暖地では早生の早）の良食味，穂発芽性が“難”，強稈品種の育成を目標として，良食味，強稈品種の‘キヌヒカリ’と，良食味，穂発芽性が“難”の‘コシヒカリ’を１９８８年７月に交配した組合せから育成された。本品種の待性として，出穂期及び成熟期は‘ミネアサヒ’よりやや早く，‘キヌヒカリ’と同程度，短程で，偏穂数型の梗種である。耐倒伏性は“やや強”，穂発芽性は“難”である。いもち病抵抗性遺伝子型は“Ｐｉ−ｉ”を持つと推定され，圃場抵抗性は葉いもちが“弱”，穂いもちと白葉枯病が“やや弱”である。収量性は‘ミネアサヒ’，‘キヌヒカリ’よりやや優れ，玄米の外観品質は良く，食味は‘ミネアサヒ’より優れ，‘コシヒカリ’，‘キヌヒカリ’並の“上の中”である。本品種は暖地のいもち病常発地帯を除く山ろく地から一般平坦地に適すると考えられ，１９９３年３月に種苗法による品種登録の出願がなされ，１９９４年２月に福岡県で準奨励品種に採用された。

A new rice cultivar 'YUMETSUKUSHI' developed by Fukuoka Agricultural Research Center in 1993 was selected from the cross between 'KINUHIKARI' and 'KOSHIHIKARI. It was released as a promising rice cultivar with high palatability in Fukuoka prefecture in 1994. In this breeding program, method of rapid generation advancement was used to shorten the breeding period. 'YUMETSUKUSHI' belongs to the early-maturing group, same as 'KINUHIKARI' and 'KOSHIHIKARI'. The plant is a partial panicle number type with short culms. It is resistant to lodging and pre-harvest sprouting. It has the blast resistance gene pi-i. Field resistance to blast is weak. The palatability is similar to 'KINUHIKARI' and 'KOSHIHIKARI' and better than 'MINEASAHI'. It has good quality of husked rice and the yield ability is higher than 'KINUHIKARI' and 'MINEASAHI'. It is adapted to early season and normal season culture in flat and intermediate mountainous areas except for blast infected areas.
